A stellar expansion to N’Erud
Remnant 2: The Dark Horizon is a DLC to the base game Remnant 2, an action-packed role-playing game with shooting elements that allow for co-op play and multiplayer matches. Developed by Gunfire Games, this Souls-like shooter continues its story through the Dark Horizon DLC with a new storyline, dungeons, maps, archetypes, and many new bosses to fear.
Remnant 2: The Dark Horizon expands on N’Erud, unlocking more mysteries to a place preserved in time. In this DLC you’re to traverse a new world with new items and powerful weapons at your disposal.
New map, new dangers
Remnant 2: The Dark Horizon continues the base game’s Souls-like shooter mash-up with more enemies to slay and a new map to learn with its storyline expanding on the previous enemies you’ve encountered. The game retains its intense gun fights against monsters and with the new map, everything is freshly made for mayhem. However, the game can be buggy at times which the developers have addressed, though it remains persistent.
This DLC ups the ante with wackier enemies and more loot for players to enjoy, complete with an entirely new Archetype class: the Warden. This new class is a versatile support type, able to shield and heal themselves and allies. Additionally, its drone can be changed to a combat drone that focuses on offensive attacks to support allies in the heat of battle.
Furthermore, the new map comes with new enemies, characters, and fearsome foes to watch out for — garnishing the overall Remnant 2 experience with a great expansion that delivers satisfying content. Moreover, this expansion brings new secrets and items for players to find out as it often hides routes or items behind a rare quest. While the expansion is enjoyable, some players are disappointed with the game’s balance.
A worthwhile expansion with a few caveats
Remnant 2: The Dark Horizon delivers an exciting expansion filled with new enemies, bosses, and the versatile Warden archetype. With its engaging storyline, fresh map, and added secrets, this DLC enriches the overall gameplay experience for fans of the base game. However, persistent bugs and balance issues slightly hinder its otherwise strong content. Overall, it's a solid addition for players seeking more mayhem in the Remnant universe.
